Back Again...SWW

So What Wednesday
Let's hop on the good foot and do the bad thing!...
Except not really since that's actually a euphemism for sex and that's not what we're about here.
Forget I said anything.
Time for some So Whats to end this Wednesday.
Here's what I'm saying this week.
So What if:
  • I started this post off so very strangely. Quit judging.
  • I'm tweaking about not having my caffeinated soda for three days now. I've had one decaf soda in that time and some caffeinated tea, but it's just not the same!
  • I consider my obsession to above mentioned soda to be an addiction. Screw "The Man's" definition of addictive substances. Weird that it's less about the caffeine and more about the carbonation?
  • I'm torn between excitement and annoyance that my son actually got involved in a TV show. I might be able to use this to my advantage, but I still don't like him becoming a TV watcher yet.
  • I've been letting us spend a little more recklessly the last two weeks or so. The fact that nothing is progressing on the house is getting me down and we needed to do something to get us out of here for a bit and to perk up the spirits. Also...star trek.
  • I have a weird obsession with there actor that plays Spock. I want to watch heroes again now because of it.
  • We started watching That 70s Show on Netflix (I've seen most of them before). I forgot how funny this show is.
That's it this week.

Wednesday

So What Wednesday
It's Wednesday!
You know what that means...
So What Wednesday!
This week I'm saying So What if:
  • I didn't do my waist-ed weekend post. I think my weight is lower, but I didn't do really any exercises this week etc and I was feeling pretty off. Starting again next week (so there prob won't be a post this Friday either) after the family here right now is gone.
  • I put off taking James to the Dr until today when I called. I now have an appt tomorrow, but I honestly thought he'd get better on his own. He's just been rolling through different symptoms over the past week instead.
  • I cried a little inside when Shannon suggested she might make this monthly...anyone have any other good link ups I can add so I actually post?!
  • My wedding band and engagement ring are making my finger itch and peel, but I still wear them. I hate sensitive skin.
  • I've resorted to snuggling down with both my kids to get James to nap. It's been a pain to get it to work lately any other way.
  • My so whats are not numerous this week. Just too busy with family to think of a lot of them. Until next week!
Time for you to go link up now!

One Month Old

I let you all known in my weekend recap about how Emma was officially one month old as of Saturday. Unfortunately, she hasn't had her checkup yet so I didn't really have anything to report to you all.

Now, I do have a recap for you!

Look at this pretty girl. Enjoying life and enjoying her one month 'birthday'.

She's started somewhat sleeping through the night actually. So different from James who I couldn't get to sleep ever. I don't think I was back in my own bed until two or three months after. Emma sleeps in her bassinet by my bed and has pulled a few 5 hour sleeps. Mostly it's 3-4 hour stints though.

Speaking of sleeping, baby girl passed out getting her nails clipped. I love being pampered too, little one.

She smiles and coos and does normal baby things too. Her neck strength is no where near where James was at this point, but he was a monster. Must have been from him holding his monstrous head on in the womb. She does love to kick and seriously can almost flip herself over.
Too soon, too soon!

Baby brother loves her, mostly. He wants to be near her and touch her. He gives kisses, pets her head, plays with her toes, and tried to help when she's crying.

Of course, his version of helping sometimes clashes with mine. Blankets over a crying baby's head isn't all that helpful, bud!

She's just too sweet overall. Sometimes these two together is a major challenge, but one I think I'm up for. :-)

Her stats:

Weight: 8 lb 7 oz
That's two lbs up from her first Dr visit! (obviously she lost weight from her birth weight like all babies)
Height: 21.5 in
2.5 in longer than birth!
Head: 15in
Half inch bigger too!

She had a busy month of growing, for sure!

Yeah...Emma is eating now too.

So What Wednesday

Hello lovelies!
It's that time of the week again...

So What Wednesday!

Here are my so whats for the week.

So What If:

  • I've spent a massive amount of time reading celebrity gossip and playing stupid Facebook games lately. Without classwork I am running out of stuff to occupy my time while Emma eats etc.
  • I just watched James throw a tantrum because he couldn't pick up Emma's swaddle wrap thing off the ground (the Velcro stuck to the carpet) and I did nothing to intervene.
  • My new drink of choice is sweet tea all day long, baby! I know it is still terrible and full of sugar and therefore calories, but it is a slight improvement from soda. Plus, I make it at home so were not talking McDonalds sweet tea here.
  • I think my MFP calorie thing is SOO off. I am almost always under my calorie intake because I nurse and I even tend to overestimate the calories. Seems like something is off to me.
  • I almost didn't keep up with my exercise stuff (200 squat program etc.) due to the holiday weekend. I got caught up though and I'm on track.
  • I'm very impatient for this house stuff to get going. Mainly because I want Sam to stop crabbing about how long it takes.
  • I'm looking forward to the zoo more than anyone else in this house. The only person who even had a chance was James and well, he doesn't get what the zoo is yet.
  • I'm still debating whether Emma will be 'Emma' or 'Euphie'. We'll see as she gets bigger.
Now it's your turn to chime in over with Shannon!

I'll drink to that...

Sami's Shenanigans

For a three day weekend, this weekend was pretty uneventful.

Given, three day weekends mean nothing to me as a stay at home mom...
but still.

As a nice, long, dry weekend... we actually got some outside stuff done.

  • Pool opened
  • Deck painted
  • Lawn mowed
  • Weed whipping done
  • Random ditch tree cut down
  • Garden area weeded and planted
  • Flowers watered
I'd say that is a pretty good list of things accomplished in one weekend. Of course, I did little (none) of it. I was on baby duty as usual.

Baby girl did turn one month old this weekend!

I had myself a little drink to celebrate, or you know...just because I wanted to.
More on that later this week...the one month thing not the drinking. She has a Dr appt Thursday so I'll have size updates etc.

Essentially the weekend consisted of lots of work, getting some sun, good food, and family time. Not bad for a weekend overall.
